The debate continues of ‘privileged minorities’ and ‘wronged majority.’

“I was accused that I have failed my grade as a journalist. I am not a journalist nor did I pretend to be one. If my writing style irritates I am sorry; it is the best that I could do. I am a geologist and a paleontologist by training”

So writes Asoka Weerasinghe in a letter to Asian Tribune defended his earlier contention that Tamil were ‘privileged minorities’ and the Sinhalese were a ‘wronged majority.’

Sir:

These Canadian-Tamil separatists amaze me. Where is S. Santhirasegara coming from? If he was sleeping in a Scarborough bunker, playing his child’s game of “Terrorist and Soldier - I am guarding my pretend Little-Eelam,” then he has obviously overslept.

He ought to read my response to P. Chandran’s questionnaire. All his concerns have been answered in it. And let me be blunt with Santhirasegara, and I hope he will hear me loud and clearly -“I am guilty of nothing.”
