The 'Dutu Gemunu Principle' - Why Prabakaran is the Singhalese's best friend.

Niro Dissanayake writes “My Tamil friends - It was never the 'Sinhalaya' who was the 'Modaya'. Take a good look at yourselves. The Sinhalese leaders even put our former British rulers to shame in terms of strategy.

I have been reading with much interest the various exchanges between Messrs. Weerasinghe, Kana and Chandran's. They have presented each others opinions in a very articulate manner. It is somewhat of a pity that at times it has descended to personal attacks on each others integrity etc. when there is no requirement to do so. However I prefer not too pass judgment on the individuals. They are obviously passionate about their beliefs and this is not necessarily a bad thing.

However Sir, I would be grateful if I can make a few humble observations via your forum.

First I will start by not regurgitating old arguments. Where the Sinhalese came from or if there was a Tamil kingdom or they were the original inhabitants of the island, or the Buddha visited Sri Lanka, Eelam or whatever anyone wishes to call it, or Ravana was a Tamil king of the island we all call home, or the Mahavamsa is 100% factual etc. is irrelevant. The truths of this are lost in time and no one on this earth can verify for certain the reality. We can argue till the cows come home, but it is all a wasted exercise.
