Electioneering of vulgarity through the Internet

Electioneering of vulgarity through the Internet

Q Perera - Reporting from Colombo

Colombo, 25 October, (Asiantribune.com): Some of the e-mail messages circulated through the internet are not only slanderous but are full of vulgarity and indicative of the candidates sexual preferences using expletive and ironical verbiages shamefully by certain supporters of some presidential candidates.

In one such e-mails there is the picture of a leader and several figures turning back with the pants down showing the buttocks and reference is made to ‘Janatha Niyaya Patraya’ the People’s Agenda. The message therein is ‘Hekiyawata Rekiyawak’ ‘Adhomargayata – Aadayam Margayak’ meaning Employment for Ability – An income channel for the rectum – anus.

These messages sent to home personal computers has a very disparaging effect as many children are now allowed to use the computers and the internet and they too are accessing these electioneering vulgarities.
