Colombo, 06 March, (Asiantribune.com): A subtle form of ethnic cleansing is taking place at a state owned TV channel in Colombo, alleged victims have complained to President Mahinda Rajapakse.

"Several Muslims who have been working for many years at the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) owned Channel Eye (Tamil Channel) have been transferred for political reasons, because some of the Tamils who are working at this channel is of the view that as the channel mainly focuses on Tamil language programmes, only Tamils must dominate the place and not Muslims," sources alleged.

The Muslim employees, most of them seniors who have been working at the channel for many years have been transferred to other departments or have been taken off programmes they have been hosting for many years.
