EU urges LTTE to commence discussion with Sri Lanka

[b]EU urges LTTE to commence discussion with Sri Lanka government immediately[/b]

[b] Colombo, 21 January, (Asiantribune.com):[/b] European Union has pointed out to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam to come forward without any delay to meet with the representatives of the Government of Sri Lanka to discuss about the implementation of Ceasefire Agreement.

The Royal Norwegian Embassy on behalf of the European Union reminded of the need for the, "The full implementation of the current Ceasefire Agreement between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) is essential for any progress towards a lasting peace."

"The European Union urges the LTTE to agree to meet representatives of the Government without delay to discuss the implementation of the Ceasefire Agreement."

European Union has severely reprimanded those involved in instigating violence and war and expressed its concern on the gravely deteriorating situation in Sri Lanka. "The European Union is gravely concerned at the continuing violence in Sri Lanka."
