I will bring Karuna, Prabhakaran, Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims, Burghers together in a Cabinet of thirty – Hettigoda, presidential candidate

Colombo, 01 November, (;Ayurvedic Doctor Victor Hettigoda is a self-made business man from down south Matara. Sri Lanka’s most prominent balm producer is also known as “Siddhalepa Vedamahathaya” named after his product brand Siddhalepa. Hettigoda, 68 started his ayurvedic balm business way back in the 70s with the help of a close relative. He walked bare foot to each corner of Sri Lanka introducing his product. His dynamism had no limits. Starting with a small shoe box which was his mobile showcase for his product, he has risen to be the chairman of a business emporium. In 1989 Asiaweek magazine named him “the Balm King”.

Dr. Victor Hettigoda’s decision to run for the most powerful position of Sri Lank was a surprise for most of the leading political parties. On top of this, he surprised all by declaring that LTTErs will be part of his cabinet.

What makes Dr. Hettigoda tick? ‘Asian Tribune’s’ Bureau Chief in Germany, Lalith Ganhewa, talked to Dr. Hettigoda to find out the answers.
