LTTE Commander Bahnu seriously injured

Colombo, 31 July, ( Reports now reveal that Colonel ‘Bravo’ Bahnu of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam is seriously injured on 29 July at Karadiyanaru. On the forenoon of 29 July, Sri Lanka jets bombed with pinprick precision, “Thenakam” a key LTTE base in Karadiyanaru, 24 Km from Batticaloa killing at least twenty LTTE cadres, according to defence sources.

Reports now confirmed that LTTE Batticaloa - Amparai commander Bahnu was in the camp when it was hit by air strikes.

Sources in the LTTE controlled area now confirms that Bahnu was hit by shrapnel and sustained serious injuries in his back and indisposed.

He is now getting medical treatment from the facilities available within the uncontrolled area, reports revealed.

Though LTTE leadership is considering ferrying him by one of their speedboats to Vanni for further treatment, the leadership feels that it would be a very risky proposition.

LTTE leadership is fully aware that it would be a great risk to move Bahnu out of their controlled area, as the militants belonging to TamilEela Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal led by Colonel Karuna are waiting to pounce on Bahnu once he is moved out of the LTTE controlled region.

Furthermore, it is now revealed that many of Bahnu’s bodyguards were killed and also several sustained injuries on Friday when Sri Lanka planes dropped bombs on the LTTE base.
