Sunil C. Perera - Reporting from Colombo

Colombo, 02 August, (Asiantribune.com): Another group of Sri Lankans employed in the Lebanon have returned to the island.

A group of 250 workers arrived in the island on Tuesday in a Qatar airways flight. The foreign employment Bureau says so far around 2,000 Sri Lankans have returned to the island from Lebanon.

The government of Qatar has provided ten air trips from the Damascus in Syria to Colombo. A special security programme is also being carried out to ensure the security of the Sri Lankans who return to the island.

DIG of the Western province Southern range D.W. Prathapasinghe says this special security is provided because several thefts have taken place when the workers were traveling to their homes from the Katunayake airport.
