Another TULF Leader Sivamaharajah shot and killed by LTTE

Colombo, 21 August, (Asiantribune.com): Another Tamil Leader Sinnathamby Sivamaharajah (66) has been shot and killed by the LTTE’s suspected gunmen yesterday (Sunday) at about 7.30 p.m. at his residence in Tellipalai, in the Jaffna Peninsula.Sinnathamby Sivamaharajah is one of the most reputed leaders of the  Tamil United Liberation Front from its very inception in 1976. Sivamaharajah, one of the most reputed leaders of the Tamil United Liberation Front from its very inception in 1976 and who stood shoulder to shoulder with its President V.Ananthasanagree right through out when a section of the TULF bandwagon under the leadership of R.Sampanthan split from the party to join the Tamil National Alliance, a proxy of the LTTE.

Earlier he was a leading member of the Ilankai Tamil Arasu kadchchi which has been now high-jacked in 2004 by the proxy Tiger organization - Tamil National Alliance led by Mavai S. Senathirajah to contest in the last parliamentary general elections to make use of the party’s popular ‘House’ symbol.

Sivamaharajah was a former TULF Member of Parliament. At present he is the Managing Director of Jaffna Tamil daily "Namathu Eelanadu" and the Chairman of the Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society (MPCS) in Tellippalai.
