Pak launch efforts to trace its kidnapped citizen in Iraq

Islamabad, 29 May, (Asiantribune.com): Pakistan has started diplomatic efforts through its embassies in Kuwait and Jordan to trace the kidnapped Pakistani, said Foreign Office Spokesman Sunday.

Commenting on the news item published in a section of press regarding kidnapping of Pakistani Shafiq from the area of Falujah, Iraq, the Spokesman of Foreign Office Mr. Suhail said Pakistan has directed its embassies in Kuwait and Jordan to make efforts to trace the Pakistani.

The Spokesman said the government has also approached the Iraqi embassy in Pakistan to get the details of the kidnapping of the Pakistani and remained in touch with the officials of Iraqi embassy in this regard.

He said, "We are making efforts to ascertain the facts regarding the incident of kidnapping of the Pakistani."

According to the reports published in the press, Shafiq a Pakistani was going in a convoy near Falujah when he was abducted by some unknown persons.

"The government of Pakistan will utilize all diplomatic resources to trace the Pakistani", said the Spokesman.
