Oslo, 23 January,(Asiantribune.com): After the Oslo-based Norwegian Against Terrorism (NAT) exposed the Norwegian government as the largest contributor to the Tamil Tiger funds other angry recipients have bombarded the Foreign Ministry with phone calls.
NAT told the Asian Tribune that a source from the Norwegain Mnistry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) had confirmed that a number of phone callers had protested against their names being exposed. The detailed payment list was accidentally released on the internet by the MFA webmaster. After NAT exposed the payments the detailed list was removed and replaced with a new list with only a summary of the paments with details. The old and the new list have the same web address.
Hre is the link to the new list: http://www.dep.no/ud/norsk/tema/utvikling/samarbeid/statistikk/032131-260010/dok-nn.html
NAT, however, is in possession of the old list. Embarrassed Norwegians are now shifted into damage control mode though late
NAT says that the Norwegian MFA is attempting to hide from the Norwegian taxpayers and the Sri Lankan people the truth about the Norwegian funding of the LTTE and Norwegian friendly individuals and organizations in Sri Lanka.
NAT also states that they are in possession of tapes of TRO in Denmark admitting using the Norwegian government as a method of raising funds. In most Western countries TRO, which poses as a charitable institution, is banned as a front organization raising funds for the Tamil Tigers. The tapes in Danish language reveal that the TRO is using Norwegian funding for their purposes.
These tapes also record warnings issued by the Danish TRO leader to Danish Tamils not to support other organizations like Red Cross etc. if they want the people of Sri Lanka to get help.
