LTTE leader Prabakaran's son ran the now famous air-bombing operation, LTTE spy-wing angry

Colombo, 01 March, ( LTTE leader V.Prabakaran's son, Charles Anthony has planned and oversaw the execution of the recent air raid in the Katunayake airbase. He is also now placed in the ranks in par with "deputy leader" of the LTTE, considerably disturbing the rank and file of the LTTE's spy wing, reported the Sunday Lankadeepa, the weekend broadsheet published in Colombo.

The LTTE's spy leader Pottu Amman is reportedly angry that the LTTE leader V. Prabhaharan's has appointed his eldest son Charles Anthony to run LTTE's now famous airwing "'Vaan Puligal' (Air Tigers). He is even more angrier that Charles Anthony has been given a leadership post, ranking higher than Pottu Amman himself, it is reported.

Charles Anthony is now in charge of a fleet of eight airmen, the report added.

LTTE leader's son, Charles Anthony had studied aeronautics engineering and information technology in London.
In the first-ever aerial bombing operation, LTTE on Monday March 26 targeted the main military base of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) in Katunayake, killing three Air Force personnel and injuring 16 others.

The operation, which came amid fierce fighting between the Army and the Tigers in the north and east in which the LTTE suffered a blow, has baffled military and political observers here.

Two LTTE light aircraft flew from LTTE-held territory towards capital Colombo and dropped bombs at an air base at the Katunayake international airport and then flew back, covering around 500 km at night. It was the first time any insurgent group in the world had used planes.

Sri Lanka has described the LTTE air raid as a threat to the world, including to countries in South Asia.
