By M. Rama Rao – Reporting from New Delhi

New Delhi, 12 November ( He was not courted. Nor was he feted. As was the case just under a year ago. But on his fourth visit to the capital since the fall of NDA regime and his own adieu to the BJP, Chandrababu Naidu, the Telugu Desam supremo, remained composed through out his day long stay. He was here to pay his last respects to the first People’s President, K R Narayanan. Solemnity was the demand of the hour and that suited the 'Babu' well.

Barring the 'mandatory' visit to Kapurthala House, where Narayanan's body was kept in state, in the morning, and to the banks of River Yamuna in the evening, to bid final farewell to the late leader as the mortal remains were consigned to flames, Babu remained mostly at the residence of Khambhampati Rammohana Rao, the TDP MP.

Khambhampati is a good host at all times. When his party supremo is in town, he literally offers a five star treat. Thursday was no exception. In fact, for his boss, he has a tastefully decorated suit (room). It is opened only when Babu is in town, says a journo, a frequent visitor to the MP's residence at the posh Pandara Park Road. This place is not very far from the Kapurthala House which like the Hyderabad House here, was a royal house once.
