India's New Year Message to Pakistan

India's New Year Message to Pakistan

By M Rama Rao - Reporting for Asian Tribune

New Delhi, 31 December (asiantribune.com): India's New Year Message to Pakistan: Reduce terror export. Otherwise a big question mark over peace process.

This message significantly has come at a deep background briefing. Foreign Secretaries of two countries are set to meet here on January 17 and 18 to kick start the third round of composite dialogue process.

Given the level of bonhomie between the two capitals in the recent past, the message comes as a surprise but knowledgeable sources contend that New Delhi has little choice in the matter. More so after the Pak ISI backed Lashkar-e-Taiba group carried out a daring attack on the prestigious Indian Institute of Sciences in the country's IT capital, Bangalore.

The briefing coincided with the cremation here of a mathematics professor who was killed in the Bangalore attack.
