[b] Colombo, 18 January, (Asiantribune.com):[/b] Jaffna University students’ union has announced the stoppage of continuing with their daily classes, their studies at the university and other educational activities provided by the university until normalcy prevails in the region.

Jaffna University students Union has officially made this announcement in a letter to Professor S. Mohandas, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Jaffna.

They have indicated in their official notification to the Vice Chancellor that until the situation in the region comes to normal, they will not attend the University for receiving higher education.

In the letter they have ponted out that after the new President was sworn in and once the new Army Chief took up his office, Sri Lanka Army has started unleashing ruthless attacks on the Tamil people, as well as on the Tamil students in this region.
