Karuna warns LTTE to give up their war in the east

Karuna warns LTTE to give up their war in the east or to face intensified attacks

Colombo, 16 December, ( V. Muralitharan, alias Col. Karuna, states in a press communiqué that the LTTE has contrived successfully to force the Sri Lankan government to seek the assistance of the Norwegian government by targeting Security Forces with claymore mines. In a statement issued by Uruththira, the spokesman for the Tamileela Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal, (TMVP) Muralitharan states that the ongoing shadow war is waged by the LTTE to enforce their political agenda.

The LTTE is engaged in hate campaigns and systematic attacks against the Muslim communities in the east to subdue them.

Karuna further states that the new Government in the beginning was reluctant to deal with Norway and its peace facilitation. But with detonating of two claymore bombs in the Jaffna peninsula which killed nearly 14 Sri Lanka soldiers had forced the Sri Lanka Government to go on their bended knees to appeal to Norway to continue with their peace facilitation.

Once they managed to win their first round with the Sri Lanka Government they will continue with their shadow war to stop the Sri Lanka Government plans of insisting on the revision of the Ceasefire Agreement signed in February 2002.

The Ceasefire Agreement which became a legal document was prepared by Anton Balasingham and others of the LTTE when I was with them. Subsequently it was handed over to Eric Solheim for necessary action.
