[b]Kathir Balasundramm’s Pottkalam book release ceremony held in Toronto[/b]

[b]Toronto, 29 August, (Asiantribune.com):[/b] The book “Pottkaalam”– Golden Age, written by emeritus principal of Tellipalai Union College was released in Toronto, Canada at a simple ceremony held at the Mother Teresa Secondary School hall located at 40 Sewell’s Road in Toronto.

The author of Pottkaalam, Kathir Balasuntharam donated the entire proceeds of the book sale held on the release day, totaling around Dollars 1185.00 for the future maintenance of the Students’ Computer Centre at the Tellipalai Union College.

Kathir Balsuntharam has narrated in a lucid language his ten years of service in the college as a Principal in the book, in a readable literary style. The book Pottkaalam runs into 200 pages with a beautiful jacket and the book is neatly printed in an offset printing house.

The book was released on last Saturday by the Canada branch of old students of the Tellipalai Union College.

The book releasing ceremony commenced with the singing of the National Anthem of Canada and meeting was presided over by S. Kalaichelvan. Murugavel Paramanathan addressed in the meeting introducing the book to the well attended audience. It was followed by a speech by S.Vigneswaran, Attorney at Law from California.

Poet Thirumavalavan spoke about Kathir Balasuntharam’s literary works.

The Union College old student Dr. Sabapathy Raveendean was given the honor of receiving the first copy of the Pottkalam amid applause from the crowd.

In his acceptance speech Kathir Balasundaram said, that Pottkaalam was his attempt to see the human being with honor, dignity and nobility.
