[b]Colombo, 20 March, ([/b]Erik Solheim has informed the Government of Sri Lanka that the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam has conveyed about attacks against their cadres are continuing and so far the Sri Lanka Government has failed to take any appropriate action, as agreed in the last talks held in Geneva, to disarm Karuna’s group in the East.

According to a news report, Erik Solheim, Norway’s Minister for International Development and the Chief facilitator of the Sri Lanka’s peace process has informed that Anton Balasingham, the LTTE’s chief spokesman has brought the LTTE’s contentions to his notice.

In a telephone conversation with Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva, Sri Lanka Government’s Chief Spokesman Erik Solheim has also brought to his notice about the recent speech made by Wimal Weerawansa, Propaganda Secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Perumuni calling for the dismissal of Norway as the facilitator. It is learnt that Solheim has said that such calls would not be in any way goes to help the smooth facilitation of the peace process.
