Colombo, 25 December, (Asiantribune.com): Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam Tigers emphasized with representatives of the co-chairs that talks must be held in Norway, the country which has been accepted as the facilitator by the Tamil and the Sinhla side.

This was categorically stated by S.P.Tamilselvan, Head of the Political Division of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam in Kilinoichchi, at the meeting held yesterday with the diplomats of the Co-Chairs of the Sri Lanka Donor Countries.

After this meeting Tamilselvan told the media personnel who met him as follows:

The Co-Chair countries have shown keen interest about the recent tense situation prevailing in our region.

Today’s (Saturday’s) talks were based on ending the prevailing tense situation by taking appropriate action to calm down the people and bring about normalcy.

Regarding this matter we have clarified our position very clearly.

We have emphasized that the worst acts of violence let loose by the army against the people must be brought to an end.

We pointed out that the people are enraged over an incident in Punguduthievu where one of our young women was abducted, sexually assaulted and killed.
