LTTE may have to revise the CFA to force the Sri Lanka

LTTE may have to revise the CFA to force the Sri Lanka Government to disarm Karuna's group.

Colombo, 12 December, (Asiantribune.com): The Sri Lanka’s Tamil rebel outfit Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam is in an urgent hurry to negotiate with the Government of Sri Lanka on the preliminary matters of commencing the Talks to keep intact the Eastern province under their control.

Tamil Tigers once they meet the Sri Lanka Government delegation has planned to emphasize on the disarming of the para-military group in the East and would insist the government to implement the ceasefire agreement strictly.

According to a political observer, this amounts to requesting the Sri Lanka Government to fight a battle on their behalf in the thick jungles of the Eastern province.

Anyhow it still unclear whether the ceasefire agreement that was signed in February 2002, would be a suitable legal instrument to disarm the new para-military group that came into existence two years after the signing of the ceasefire agreement between the Sri Lanka Government and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.
