[b]Colombo, 15 November, (Asiantribune.com):[/b] Military cadres of the Tamileelam Makkal Viduthalai Puligal (TMVP) led by Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan (Colonel Karuna) have ambushed and killed Suresh, LTTE’s military commander for Ampara. According to reliable information from TMVP sources, Suresh was ambushed and killed at Akkaraipattu when he was travelling on a motor cycle with his bodyguard in a remote jungle area. The incident happened on Monday 14th November 2005 around 12 noon.

TMVP cadres have reportedly captured alive the accompanying LTTE member. They have also captured two micro pistols and two mobile phones.

LTTE has yet to confirm the killing of its Ampara Military Commander Suresh. The killing will be a major set back to the LTTE in the Ampara Batticaloa region, where TMVP cadres have been able to mount several successful attacks on LTTE camps and cadres in the recent weeks.
