From M Rama Rao - Reporting for Asian Tribune from New Delhi

New Delhi, 07 January ( A week after President Mahinda Rajapakse returned from a successful India visit, a question is doing rounds: did his entourage to Delhi have a LTTE mole?

There is no clear cut answer to this engrossing question.

In fact, there is neither a reaction nor a confirmation on record.

But reports in circulation speak of such a mole.

The only hint that is available is that the mole was in fact a military trained LTTE cadre feigned as a journalist and had traveled as a media member.

Some circles say the person represented a private TV channel but no details are forthcoming.

It appears that the Indian security officials have since apprised their counterparts in Colombo. Again more conjectures and no hard facts.
