LTTE is one stake holder, but there should be room for other parties also in the peace process – Sri Lanka President

From our Colombo correspondent

Colombo, 18 February, (President Mahinda Rajapakse on Friday said he hoped to take forward the peace process based on the start at the ceasefire talks in Geneva in a transparent and healthy manner sticking to stipulated time frames.

President Rajapakse met all the political party representatives on Friday at Presidential Secretariat to brief them on the developments on the ceasefire talks to be held in Geneva on February 22 and 23.

The All Party Conference gave a chance for the political party representatives to exchange their views with the Government delegation headed by Health Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva.

The President pointed out that he took multi-party approach in the peace process with the Tamil tigers as he saw that the peace process under Ranil Wickremesinghe failed to achieve its goals due to the bipartisan approach he followed.
