LTTE plans to start the war, but last year was hit by the tsunami - Balasingham

Part II -- continuing Balasingham's talk to the LTTE supporters in London

Last year we planned for a war

In the last Heroes Day Leader said.

'Today we are faced with a critical and complex situation, unprecedented in the history of our liberation struggle. We are living in a political void, without war, without a stable peace, without the conditions of normalcy, without an interim or permanent solution to the ethnic conflict.’

‘Our liberation struggle will be seriously undermined if this political vacuum continues indefinitely.’

He declared that he was preparing a plan to take forward the liberation struggle.

Soon after he made this statement, the very next month Tsunami tidal wave struck us. Our homeland’s Eastern coastal villages were all submerged by the Tsunami.

In total 20,000 Tamils and Muslim people perished. Three lakhs of people lost their homes and lands and were made refugees.

When we were hit by such a natural calamity how was it possible Aiyah Sir to fight a war?
