Oslo, 21 February, ( - The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) issued a death warning to Mr Sivarajah Rajasingham, leader of the Liberal Democratic Tamils in Norway, an organization dedicated for protection of human rights. He said that a LTTE cadre pointed a pistol at him outside his house in Furuset, a suburb of Oslo and threatened to kill him unless he stopped his “anti-LTTE activities immediately.” The armed LTTE cadre told him that this was the second and last warning to him. Rajasingham added that a second armed person was covering him from a behind a bush while the first one spoke to him.

Rajasingham was one of the two Tamil leaders addressed the first Conference of the World Alliance for Peace in Sri Lanka (WAPS) held in Oslo in 2004. PLOTE leaders in Europe, Jeganathan and Rajasingham addressed the WAPS conference which was the first conference in Oslo to highlight the LTTE atrocities. The LTTE activists protested outside the Oslo Conference Hall during the WAPS conference.

Rajasingham, father of two children said he received the second death threat on 24 April last year.
