[b]Mannar Bishop's failure to reveal his involvement in the arrest of three policemen regrettable

Colombo, 20 February, ( Some Sri Lanka Police officers attached to the National Child Protection Authority blamed the Bishop of Mannar Rayappu Joseph for the ordeal and the mental agony they have undergone while they were held in custody by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam because of his failure to reveal his involvement in the whole sordid episode.

Already two of the three policemen held by the LTTE were freed and one more is still languishing in the captivity of the Tamil rebel outfit.

One of those police officers who was released on 10 September 2005, by the LTTE cadres attached to the Murunkan Kokkupadayan camp told the "Asian Tribune" that before entering the area controlled by the LTTE they approached the Bishop of Mannar and briefed him of their mission and explained that they were from the Nation Child Protection Agency in Colombo.
