Minority parties blamed for delay in constituting, Constitutional Council

From our Colombo correspondent

Colombo, 15 February, (Asiantribune.com): The Government announced in the Parliament on Tuesday that the minority parties should take the responsibility for the delay in setting up of the Constitutional Council, as they have not yet submitted their nominee for the Council.

Health and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva who is also the Leader of the House, told the Parliament that five members to be nominated to the Constitutional Council has already been nominated with the consensus of both Prime Minister and the Opposition leader.

"The delay is due to the absence of a nominee from the minority parties", he added.
