Muslim Peace Secretariat gets silent treatment from LTTE

By Munza Mushtaq – Reporting for Asian Tribune

Colombo, 22 March, (Asiantribune.com): The Muslim Peace Secretariat (MPS) has sought an appointment with the LTTE peace Secretariat to discuss matters relating to the security of Muslims in the North and East.

"Although the MPS wrote to the LTTE Peace Secretariat in January facilitated by the Norwegians, seeking an appointment for an interview, so far the Muslim Secretariat has not got any response from the LTTE," MPS Director General Javid Yusuf told the "Asian Tribune."

Matters concerning the security of the Muslims, the need for a separate Muslim delegation to participate at future peace talks and other problems faced by the Northern Muslims and those who have been displaced as a result of the ethnic conflict is scheduled to be taken up by the MPS with the LTTE at this requested meeting.
