[b]New Norway's peace envoy begins today familiarization visit to Colombo [/b]

[b]Colombo, 03 April, (Asiantribune.com):[/b] Norway's new peace envoy Jon Hanssen-Bauer will be in Colombo today on a four day official visit. He is expected to meet with the representatives of the Government of Sri Lanka including the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse, and with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.

Earlier according to a Norway’s Foreign Ministry statement, on 17 March Jon Hanssen-Bauer has been appointed to act as Norway’s Special Envoy for the peace process in Sri Lanka.

Accordingly he took over the day-to-day work as facilitator from Erik Solheim, International Development Minister, who will continue to oversee the main activities of the peace process.

Hanssen-Bauer will visit to Kilinochchi on Wednesday 05th to meet S.P.Tamilselvan, Head of the Political wing of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.
