<b>Security forces insist Norwegian-led monitors continue monitoring</b>

The security forces yesterday insisted that the Norwegian led Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission continues its ceasefire monitoring activities in the sea despite the incident on Saturday.

The navy said that the ceasefire monitoring activities in the sea began after the incident in Vakarai in May where the navy fired at a suspicious LTTE boat. The navy made the request to prevent any further clashes between the security forces and the LTTE in the sea.
