<b>Petronas to develop Lanka’s oil/gas resources</b>

Kuala Lumpur - Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has been asked to help develop the oil and gas resources of Sri Lanka, Bernama news agency reported, citing visiting Sri Lanka Foreign Minister Tyronne Fernando.

Fernando, who is on a two-day visit to Malaysia, said Sri Lanka has onshore and offshore oil and gas.

He said that he is seeking further discussions on a deal that benefits both countries.

Sri Lanka ambassador to Malaysia Daya Liyanage has already started preliminary talks with Petronas on the matter, he added. (AFX - ASIA)
