Beer Brought Boon on Ho Chi Minh City
Our Correspondent

Nguyen Van Son is a textile designer and he was invited for a beer party last week in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with three of his friends. Also, Dang Quoc Sien, a builder and business associate of mSon and his friends too accompanied them for the party.
As the party was on, Son noticed that the cap of his beer bottle had a picture of a Land Cruiser on it, the top prize in a promotional give away by the Tiger Beer. They all yelled in delight, but Dien immediately said the prize should be his, since he paid for the beers.
A Night of drinking turned into an ugly scene and shouting and argument broke out over who should get the suv – the sports utility vehicle, won in the beer company promotion.
The person who opened the bottle of beer with the winning cap last week insisted that the Toyota Land Cruiser rightly belings to him. The man who paid for the round of beer claimed it for himself and he hired a lawyer to sue for the prize.
At first, Dien asked the lawyer to intervene and the lawyer said the prize belonged to Dien. But Son said, “I did not agree.” Suddenly, a prospect of a potentially nasty and expensive legal row gradually emerged.
Faced with the prospect of high legal fees, the two agreed last Friday, to split up the winning vehicle. By yesterday, the tow had agreed to sell the vehicle and split the money and even give their friends and the bar owner a small share.
Son said, “I have asked several motor car dealers and they told me that the vehicle could be sold up to US$ 45,000.
The two co-winners have now planned to give Us$1,300 to the owner of the bar they drank the beer and a total of US$ 2,700 to the three friends, who accompanied them for the beer party.
