London, 26 August, (Asiantribune.com): The Asian Tribune reliably learns that the sympathisers of the Tamil Tigers who are hell bent on destroying anything of Sri Lankan, have elevated their fight to air waves recently. They want expatriate Tamil community to boycott the national airline so that the government coffers are not filled with foreign cash. In other words, they want the government to be on its knees, as the former are forced to hold their tails between the hind legs.
The clarion call comes, as everything aired before for the purpose of ruining the Sri Lankan economy and the country’s image abroad, proved utterly futile. The uselessness of measures already taken by these cubs, now border on ridicule.
The world knows that the supporters of the Tamil Tigers draw energy from a bottomless pit, when it comes to agitation - which then easily evolves into nuisance; they don’t want to give up what they call the ‘struggle’ for obvious reasons – to keep funds flowing towards questionable characters which in turn make them super rich and guarantee living in comfort.
On the other hand, they are aware of the fact that their activities on foreign soil are under scrutiny as never before; moreover, the absence of all-powerful ‘Sun God’ makes it impossible to call for divine intervention when things go from bad to worse.
In these circumstances, the Tigers use clandestine methods to propagate the doctrine of hatred: the Hindu temples, social gatherings and even weddings are being used to brainwash the Tamil Community - about the need of boycotting the national airline.
However, the Tigers are ignorant to note the fact that the airline industry has been hit very badly by the current recession. Therefore, no alternative airline is in a position to address sentimental issues based on bigotry, as they have to run a business against very tough economic conditions.
On the other hand, a traveller knows the ‘nightmare’ of being in transit, especially across the countries where the staff speak very little English or no English at all: being bombarded with endless or rather rude ‘yes’, ‘no’, nods and gestures never make travelling any pleasurable; on the contrary, it makes you wish the Almighty provided you with wings for the same purpose.
Against this backdrop, the Sri Lankan airlines offer its passengers the most convenient form of travelling – non-stop to Colombo, especially from London. Its excellent service complements the convenience of travelling in the shortest possible time. Tamils used to use the national airline for travelling for decades as they always felt they are in good hands. No airline will be able to compete with the national carrier on this front.
The sympathisers of the Tigers, who always want to drive wedges between the two Sri Lankan communities for the sake of their own survival, don’t seem to be stopping at anything. The endless propaganda solely for the purpose of ruining the economy and image of the motherland take various twists and turns at present – and at an alarming rate. It shows how desperate they are to keep the ruthless movement alive along with its macabre practices.
It is surprising that the Tiger supporters never want to boycott Sri Lankan food in favour of European food. It is a clear sign that they still have their tastes intact despite insisting others on giving up theirs – the element of hypocrisy handed down by their departed hierarchy to keep the Tiger brand alive.
As more and more tourists choose the idyllic paradise as their favourite destination, the sympathisers of the Tiger outfit will soon discover the latest clarion call to be as hollow as the calls made on highways and major cities in the past few months about a hypothetical genocide.
The Tamil community will chose the national airline for travelling, not just because they take you to the motherland non-stop, but it is the airline that makes them feel of travelling in the care of their own species.

While LTTE is advocating
While LTTE is advocating having a piece of land in Sri Lanka on one hand, they also want to destroy it. What a hypocritical vision. If I cannot have it no body could have it mentality. With a million Tamils in the Diaspora it would be a massive economic force. If any Tamil feel Sri Lanka is not their home, better they do not visit Sri Lanka at all. If you have any guilt better avoid visiting Sri Lanka. It is not a secret that many members of Diaspora who claimed refugee status in Western Countries, at their first opportunity after obtaining permanent citizenship, did travel to Sri Lanka. The ordinary Tamil who lives abroad who has not done any crime has no hazel to visit Sri Lanka. They would be amazed to realize how free Sri Lanka is, their hospitality and welcome. They do not have to worry that their children will be taken away anymore as LTTE cadres.
If LTTE supporters boycott
If LTTE supporters boycott Sri Lankan air lines, I think that's because of their own safety!!!!! Sri Lankan military intelligent units are always after them! So, nothing much to worry for us.
Tiger Supporters Boycotting Sri Lankan Airlines
With the anti-Sri Lanka sentiment among LTTE supporters in Britain and other EU countries at the high level indicated in this article, it would be prudent for the Sri Lankan Airlines authorities to increase the degree of security screening of passengers boarding its flights from these countries, because one cannot rule out the possibility of a suicide bomber trying to board such a flight.
