Well done Daya Gamage Please CONTINUE!

Well done Daya Gamage.

Another excellent article.

Unfortunately you've ruffled the few features masking the nakedness of champions of "cause X" and upset their hanger-on’s.

Please CONTINUE!

A Crude and Insulting Title

Another emotionally charged rendition by Gamage carrying a crude and pathetic title. The unprecedented overreaction to Secretary Clinton’s careless remark typifies the emotional nature of most Sri Lankans, a quality that seems to be the key driving force of the Sinhalese - one that seems rooted in deeply seeded insecurities. How many times have we seen the US being criticized at various forums for various reasons but hardly any grossly-titled headlines by a reputed American media outlet. Shameful.

Oh dear, it seems media

Oh dear, it seems media freedom stops when the mighty advocates of it are questioned, humiliated or exposed for their duplicity. On the other hand there are many who still advocate and follow master servant relationships and a hurt, angered, even fearful, when others do not conform to this line of thinking.

US is still a friend indeed

If this story about rape was found to be false, US State Dept and Obama Administration must accept there there could be other errors in the reports received from US post in Colombo.

Is it possible that US has been making false allegations against Rajapakse regime based on these false reports originating from US post in Colombo?

While we are against these false allegations against Sri Lanka, we must appreciate the leadership shown by previous US Administrations by banning the LTTE terrorist organisation. It was their leadership that prompted EU to ban LTTE as a terrorist organisation.

We must not take one sided views about USA.

Good luck getting them to

Good luck getting them to admit they are wrong.

Sri Lanka will always be

Sri Lanka will always be grateful for the assistance provided by other countries including America. However the oriental culture distinguishes between help given when you are in need and help given with the expectation of future benefits. Bashing when you are down is regarded a mean act.

In this latest saga what is questionable is competence of the individuals who are responsible for these irresponsible assertions. The damage it has caused to millions of Sri Lankans reputation cannot be taken lightly.

At this juncture when the Sri Lankans are overwhelmingly single minded on supporting the present administration for liberation of the people from terrorism, the international community should be more diligent in coming to conclusions.

At least they should observe the regional power India's stance and try to learn from it.

It looks as if the current American diplomatic institution is seriously compromised in its ability to relate to the rest of the world in a effective manner.
