Rajapaksa worships at Tirumala temple
Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa accompanied by his wife Shiranthi Rajapakse visited Sri Vari Temple, Tirumala, a temple in the hills, where he was received with traditional honors by the Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanam authorities on Saturday evening.
Ahead of the President's visit, Sri Lankan security officials finalized security arrangements with Chittoor district collector Sri Seshadri.
On his arrival in front of Sri Vari Temple the priests and officials have welcomed the President with Temple honors ( ISTHIPAKAL).
After dharshan of lord, the Chairman TTDs Sri D.K.Audikesavulu, Chairman TTDs and I. Y. R. Krishna Rao, Executive Officer presented Sri Vari Prasadam, Books and Photo Frame and the veda pandits of the temple have blessed him with Vedic Hymns at Ranganayakula Mandapam.
Later speaking with media in front of the temple, President Mahinda Rajapaksa said that "I prayed the Lord last year he answered. This time I prayed for permanent peace in particular my country and in the region.
Sri Seshadhri, Dist Collector, Sri Laxmi Reddy, Dist Supdt of Police, Sri A.V.Dharma Reddy, Spl. Officer, Sri P.V.S.Ramakrishna, C.V&S.O, Temple DyEO Sri Gopalakrishna and other officials were present.
Since it was a private visit, his second since July last, it was kept off media glare.
