Sarath Fonseka’s Options

An analysis by L. Jayasooriya

Sarath_Fonseka_1.jpgBased on the information I have gathered from the investigations done by Asian Tribune America has no hold on Sarath Fonseka since he is not an American citizen. If Sarath Fonseka refuses to answer questions there is in fact nothing that America can do to him except deny him citizenship but if he were to get American citizenship and take the oath then America can send him to Afganistan as a private to fight the Taliban.

That is not all. The LTTE Diaspora will bring charges against him one after the other that he will be spending the rest of his life in Court provided of course the LTTE does not get him killed.

America cannot even deport him in which case we can give an equal response. America cannot seize his assets if they have been obtained legitimately. If they were to seize his assets so can any country seize the assets of any American quoting precedence?

Sarath Fonseka’s best option would be to refuse to answer questions saying that he changed his mind and return to Sri Lanka. If he is detained then the GOSL will take it up with the UN or Iran may lock up all the American diplomats to give us support.

As for Gotabaya he will be in real danger if he were to set foot on American soil or on any country that is under occupation by America like Japan or ruled by American puppets. Mahinda Rajapakse is their top target. So he should not go to any country where his security could not be guaranteed.

America is a good country for a young professional. He will earn good money and there will be no discrimination based on race but it is not a place to retire.

In fact no country with a winter is a good place to retire in. Of the countries without a winter there is no country on earth that can ever hope to be second to Sri Lanka, because of the beautiful diversity that there is in such a small area but our politicians are destroying the environment every day.

The Environmental Authority run by politicians does not have a basic understanding of what Environment is and that is a big danger to the country.

Put this in simple words, Gen

Put this in simple words, Gen Fonseka is belongs to Sri Lanka and nowhere else. He is true son of this soil. Damn good lessons for others, to realise that you are first class only in your own country and second or third class in elsewhere. Afterall Gen Fonseka himself fought to liberate this parsdise from clutches of LTTE and if not for anyone else, this is the heaven for Gen Fonseka. Come back General, we are waiting with open arms!
