Chandrika Kumaratunga in Spain
Former Sri Lanka’s President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga is in Europe to attend two international conferences.
Kumaratunga is expected to make a keynote address today at the sixth edition of the East-West Dialogue on "Migrations and Diversity: New Challenges and Opportunities”. She will speak on “Leadership for Dialogue, Diversity and Social Cohesion", in the plenary session at the City Hall of Barcelona .
The East-West Dialogue is organized with the collaboration of UNESCO, the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), and the United Nations Association for Spain.
Former Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumaratunga will also attend the three day General Assembly and Annual Conference of Club de Madrid, beginning on the 11th of November in the Spanish capital. On the final day of the conference Kumaratunga will participate in a discussion on “Employment, Social Welfare, and Democratic Rights and Duties”.
Among the former Heads of State and Governments now in Spain for the Conference are, Mary Robinson of Ireland, Jennifer Shipley of New Zealand, Romano Prodi of Italy, Lionel Jospin of France, Vicente Fox of Mexico and Hong Koo Lee of Korea.
