JVP leader had no discussions with EU on GSP plus

The JVP leader Somawansa Amarasinghe failed to meet any of the EU leaders or senior bureaucrats of Paris, London and Brussels during his recent European tour. Revealing this, Sri Lankan diplomats and expatriate leaders said that Mr Amarasinghe’s claim that he was assured by the EU that GSP plus concessions to Sri Lanka would be continued if there is a government change at the Presidential elections next month “is an absolute lie’.
Although JVP branch leader in Paris, Manel Gunwardane tried to get some appointments with French ministers, MPs and senior bureaucrats for Mr Amarasinghe, he could not get a single appointment,” the sources said. “JVP leader could meet only few leaders of the Sri Lankan expatriates. His claim that he had discussions with EU leaders on GSP issue is a fabricated story”.
Diplomatic sources in the three capitals confirmed that Mr Amarasinghe did not have any discussions with the European leaders or officials. “It is not easy get appointments with EU leaders and French and British Ministers,” a diplomat said. “In recent months we managed to get appointments only for Minister G L Peiris for discussions on GSP issue,” he pointed out.
Prof Peiris held several meetings with French Ministers and senior officials on GSP issue in Paris and Lyon and none of the political party officials were given an opportunity to join the talks.
Only Ambassador Lionel Fernando, Minister Counsellor Sugeeswara Senadhira and Commerce Secretary Chandima Kiriwandala took part in the talks with French delegations.
SLFP Paris Branch President Damien Peiris said that only thing Mr Somawansa Amarsinghe could do in Paris was to disgrace Sri Lanka by holding a demonstration in front of the Embassy. “Only LTTEers and JVPers do such treacherous acts,” Mr Peiris said. “Fortunately only 20 persons – 18 JVP members and 2 UNPers - attended the JVP demonstration and Mr Amarasinghe’s attempt to disgrace Sri Lanka’s image has failed”.
Sources in European capitals too confirmed that JVP strength in those countries have eroded in recent months because of the decision taken by the party to join hands with the UNP and pro-LTTE Tamil parties like TNA for narrow political gains.

Its a shame that SL ever had
Its a shame that SL ever had JVP. Its well-known 'mistakes' cost thousands and thousands of precious youth life, unaccountable amount of public money and assets and have stolen years of productive time. These are irreparable damages done by a party (other than LTTE) to mother Lanka. These numb-heads have set fire to public assets in broad daylight and now lament about corruption by others.
This time around, time is ripe for another round of mistakes. Another generation (of youth) is ready to experiment upon by these so-called leaders.

Is Smawansa Amarasinghe is blowing the lid off on a foreign hand in Sri Lanka elections to say that if the present President is defeated EU will give the GSP facilities the next day. We can guess with reasonable accuracy that England, France and the US will be interested in toppling the Rajapaksa government for not heeding to the request by these countries to spare the terrorists. What lopsided policies these countries are having??? In Iraq and Afghanistan they are trying to be martyrs and in the other countries they are the very terrorists supporting undemocratic groups to overthrow legitimate governments. Mr. Amarasinghe has no shame to join hands with a government who massacred more than 60,000 members in 1987. These double tongued politicians should be severely punished at the next election, including the traitor UNP leadership.

This is classic JVP lies. They do not believe in democracy. They are trying to capture power through this unholy UNP-SF alliance. UNP who belittle the Sri Lanka Forces have become bogus admirers of SF to capture power. While maintaining his family in England what kind of voice Somawansa Amarasinghe is having to the local audience. This guy did run away from Sri Lanka during the height of Premadasa suppression using his connection to UNP Sirisena Cooray.
JVP is not a party which
JVP is not a party which stands for the general public anymore. They have changed their ideologies, socialist principles, thoughts, concepts and almost everything that they used to have few years ago. Although JVP they calim that is is a politically matured party, it is not so in practical sense. Somehow or other UNP could destroy JVP. What is left for JVP now is nothing but levelling harsh and sharp criticism against any thing that the government does for the country or the nation, which should be condemned contemptously. With the presidential election, all thse fake and bogus leaders will be thrown into the political dustbin to which they really belong. Persons like Somawansa Amarasinghe has been living by lies and for lies so that telling lies is not an extra ordinary thing for them. This kind of socially detrimental elements should be wiped out from the soil of Sri Lanka in no time.
Politically bankrupt JVP
JVP has now been nothing but a bunch of political jokers. Nobody recognizes them as a critical political power in Sri Lanka, both here and outside. So it's nothing to be amazed with these sort of 3rd class political jokes by JVP.
I that the JVP leaders should seriously think on joining with UNP, as the both parties have many common features...
1. Both the parties are being rejected and rejected several times in previous elections.
2. Both the parties lacking national level leaderships to contest the presidential elections leading to a "hiring" of a retired Military leader for that!
3. After the patriotic groups of JVP joined with MR, Now the remaining bunch of jokers in JVP are having no insight rather than following UNP agenda for economy and foreign policies.
4. Ranil and Somawansa, the so called leaders in both parties have done nothing but entertaining general public with their 3rd class comic items!!!!
