Notwithstanding Gen (retd.) Sarath Fonseka’s loud assertions that his son-in-law Danuna Tilakaratne is clean, more shoddy deals and scams are tumbling out.
The latest ‘scam’ involves binocular deal. “My son-in-law has nothing to do with this" says the former General but Asian Tribune has also come across information that will not please him.
It is time probably for the General, who has joined politics on his retirement, to clear his own name instead of he issuing denials or his son-in-law slapping legal notices instead of offering a rebuttal on reading inconvenient reports on arms deals.
Asian Tribune has a few questions based on its extensive investigations to help the General….
1. Is it true that Danuna Tilakaratne is illegally residing in USA with the visa document obtained by submitting forged documents to the Home Land Security and Immigration in USA?
2. Is it true that Oklahoma based Communication Company used by your son-in-law to file for the H1 visa had folded up when the application for H1 visa extension was submitted?
3. Did your son in law suppress this information and use the H1 visa to travel in and out of USA to engage in illegal arm businesses.

In this form it clearly shows the senders name as British Borneo Defence With address as 3215 Mission ridge Drive, Flower Mound, Texas 75022. Addressee’s Name is listed as - Hicorp (Pvt) Ltd, #7 Siebal Ave, Colombo 05, Sri Lanka.
6. Is your son-in-law prepared to prove that it is not his hand writing in the US postal service documents?
7. What is your take to the following -you can see under detailed description of the content that your son- in- law is sending Binocular Sample (Steiner Model 481) which was purchased through Steiner Binoculars – Pioneer Research, 97 Foster Road Suite5, Moorestown, NJ 08057

The above questions are a direct fall-out of Sarath Fonseka’s interview to the Sunday Times (on Nov 29) wherein he asserted that Danuna Tilakaratne was not associated with the Hicorp company registered in Sri Lanka. “My son-in-law is only involved with the company’s operations in the United States”, he claimed.
The claim has turned hollow with the very company giving Danuna’s name and address as its contact point. The Hicorp is managed by the son of a retired Air Force officer.
In the same interview, Fonseka made a passing reference to the binocular deal and brushed aside the charges against his son-in-law. “I remember this company tendered for a binoculars deal but my son-in-law has nothing to do with this”, he stated. He also asserted categorically that the US-based company run by Danuna has had no involvement in Sri Lanka.
Asian Tribune’s extensive investigations puncture Fonseka’s claims. Ruwinda who ran the SL operations of Hicorp is a very close friend of Danuna Tilakeratne. Our information is that both were directed to run the business ‘without exposing the General’.
A question that needs to be closely examined is who had advised Danuna Tilakaratne to register the company in the US when the dealings were in Sri Lanka.
Asian Tribune investigations point the needle of suspicion towards the former army chief.
“Danuna registered and operated the company from USA with the influence and assistance from his wife, Anoma Fonseka and father-in-law Sarath Fonseka”, informed sources told AT. According to them, there were occasions when Anoma Fonseka called senior army officers and sought favours to promote her husband’s business of supplying arms and ammunitions.
The air can be cleared by Sarath Fonseka himself.

To answer the 21 questions directed to Fonseka, I think he may need 21 years time.
Myself before Country: SF
In SF's dictionary, there is no word called "WE", So his world of vision has been centered towards himself!
He speaks as he fought against LTTE alone, with no support from other military forces, Defense Secretary, Government or the president (infact now he says that MR and his government not only gave no help, but also disturbed him!!!).
During the war and even soon after the war SF used to mention that MR extended his service just 16days before his retirement, and infact still there are enough youtube videos as evidences for that. But now SF says that there has been nothing like that and he had three more years to retire even at that time (see this weekend newspapers).
Even the most corrupted politicians do not behave like this, and what's more we could expect from a person with these qualities??????
Greedy General
This man is trying to portray as he is the moral guardian in Sri Lanka. Recently we heard that the parcel of land he was getting from Sri Lankan government is a gift. The President earlier agreed to offer the 3 service chiefs plots of land to build a house to the extent of 10 perches at Kirimandala Mawatha allocated for a public project. SF is the greedy one who asked for 15 then 25. A perch is estimated to be 3.5 million rupees. That is over 900 million rupees of property he is getting from the government as a gift. Then he did not vacate Army Commanders residence or the quarters at HQ when he took over the office of CDS. He did not even want the guard at Army HQ changed to coincide with the new commander’s regiment. The government has treated him with due respect and regard for assisting in the terrorism war. But he seems to have had his agenda from the beginning to have raised the issues he did on his resignation letter. In his public address he is trying to say that he always do what he says. But he also said that he has no political ambitions and never enter politics saying that he only know to fight. What does he say about that? He is only a power hungry Army man, who will destroy the fabric of democracy in Sri Lanka, and if that happens UNP and JVP should be held accountable.
Yakshaya - The Devil
With all these exposures Mr Rajaratnam is doing an invaluable service for Sri Lanka. How come this information is not appearing in any other media service? SF known as ‘Yakshaya’ by his immediate colleagues is an ungrateful human being. Bum sucking Defence Secretary Gotabhaya to get his appointment as the Army Commander, he is showing his true colours now. If not for Gotabhaya and President Rajapaksa SF would not have been any one. The vision and the strength for war were in the government.
