Nepal PM to make six-day official visit to China

Kathmandu, 25 December, (Asiantribune.com):

Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal is leaving for China on Saturday for a six-day official visit to the northern neighbor.

The Prime Minister Nepal will be accompanied by a 36-member delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala, Minister for Finance Surendra Pandey, Minister for Energy Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Finance Secretary Rameshwar Khanal and Foreign Secretary Dr Madan Bhattarai.

Prime Minister Nepal will be back home on December 31.

Officials at Prime Minister's Office said Nepal will seek Chinese assistance in four priority areas -- infrastructure, hydropower, tourism and agriculture -- during the six-day visit. Discussions are
underway to identify specific projects in the said areas prioritized by the government for seeking assistance from the northern neighbor.

This will be the first visit to China by Prime Minister Nepal after he assumed the top post in May, 2009.
