Fonseka’s Contingency Plan-2, to take over the country is ready
In case Sarath Fonseka is defeated in the forthcoming Presidential election, there is a plan to take over the country by force, it is reliably learnt. The Contingency Plan - 2, that has now come to the fore, is to be put into operation just immediately after the elections results are announced on 27th January 2010, reliable sources say.
According to the plan -2, faithful soldiers are to surround the Temple Trees, the official residence of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, arrest the President and take him to a secret hideout. Also the plan includes a move to arrest and mercilessly kill Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Defence Secretary and other members of the President’s family.
Once the country is taken over in a bloody coup, those Army Attaches who are posted in several Sri Lankan Embassies overseas will assume position as Country’s Ambassadors and negotiate with America and European Union countries for the recognition of the new regime that took over the country.
As prelude to the bloody take over report emerging out of Colombo, it is revealed that Janatha Vimukthi Perumuna, the Marxist oriented pro-Sinhalese party has completed the first round of the house to house campaign in support of Sarath Fonseka’s candidature on one side and also gauged those who remain confidential to him, by meeting the retired Army soldiers, deserters, volunteer force members and one third of the regular soldiers.
It is learnt that retired Army personnel namely ex Colonel Kapila Ratnayake, Major General (retd.) Wijendra, Colonel (retd.) Gunaratne are working hand-in-hand with JVP to convince the former and present Army people to support Sarath Fonseka.
Sarath Fonseka, in his last days as the Army Commander, it is a well known fact to all those in the Army, that he was planning to take over the country, but when the Government sensed his secret plan, they removed him from the powerful position as the Sri Lankan Army Commander and posted him as the Chief of Defence Staff – a toothless position where he did not have any clout over the regular soldiers. Also the President in his capacity as Commander in Chief and Minister of Defence moved out all those Fonseka’s men who were placed in strategic position in the Army hierarchy in case he was ready to take over the country.
Knowing that his plan to take over the country suddenly fizzled out, he started negotiating with the opposition leaders – initially with Mangala Samaraweera and followed it by, Somwansa Amerasinghe, Ranil Wickremasinghe, Mano Ganesan, and also with R. Sampanthan who is the Parliamentary Group leader of the LTTE’s political formation, the TNA and others and finally he managed to become the common Presidential Candidate in the forthcoming Presidential election.
Somawansa Amarasinghe was eagerly awaiting for an opportunity to go closer with the Army leaders as they have miserably failed in their 1971 as well as 1988-89 insurrections to take over the country due to the stiffest resistance put forward by the Army.
As the long awaited opportunity arrived, JVP got closer to Sarath Fonseka and their plan was not to get any ministerial slots or any other position as Executive Prime Ministership. They have something more than what other opposition Party leaders were after.
Sizing the mood of the JVP leadership, Sarath Fonseka gave a CD where he had all name, addresses and family details of all those retired, volunteers, and regular members of the armed forces.
The leaders of the JVP have managed to meet nearly 100,000 of the retired Army soldiers and their family members, 70, 000 volunteer forces and their family members, more than 20,000 army deserters and their family members and about one third of the regular forces members of total 130,000 soldiers belonging to the regular force.
After the first round of interaction, more than 2,000 former and present Army soldiers are earmarked as most confidential soldiers and will do anything to put Fonseka as the head of the country.
It is learnt that Sarath Fonseka is mapping out his contingency plan to take over the country, while the JVP, the experience masters in insurrection are mapping out their own plans.

CIA plot
I now understand why Dr. Manomahan Singh advised Rajapakse to remove this person from the post. Now it is time to Rajapakse to take action against this military man as he did for Lasatha who was collided with CIA to plot against our President Rajapakse. We should not wait until this happen. President has the power to cancell the elections immediately and bring Indian army to Sri Lanka. We don't know how many of the military personals are behind this coup. Handing over the power to India is the only solution to this coup.
Frightening prospect
Looks like Sri Lanka is left with a frightening prospect as a result of Sarath Fonseka's entry into politics. If he wins, he is still going to rely on his supporters within the Army to govern as he is no darling of the UNP. Now this exposure shows a possible plan for him to take over government by force with the help of sections of the Army supporting him. A legitimate question to ask is what would the sections of the Army that does not support him, and also the Navy and the Air Force that doesnt support him going to do whether he wins or loses? A counter coup after battles between these opposing camps? In either event, Sri Lanka's democracy seems shortlived. Is this what Sri Lankans want or is this someone else's design?
The above coup should have
The above coup should have been possible when Fonseka was allowed to remain his posiition further. A person's true nature can be seen from his behaviours. Now we can realize that what Fonseka and JVP and UNP want to do the country. It is doubltful to say that people will ever allow them to do what they want and wish. Neither JVP nor UNP wants to develop Sri Lanka both economically and socially. They are the detrimental elements that have been causing damages to our country since the last two decades. This is not a strange situaiton, even Lord Buddha had an enemy called Devadatta and Devadatta will never attain Nirwana
The Real Plan of JVP
Mr. Rajasingham you may have well researched of the facts presented in your article. All suggested are possibilities and with the conduct of SF at present, government to feel suspicious about his conduct is well founded. The behaviour of SF really points out to that he has all along orchestrated this situation with malice. Even SF did not have those beans in him at the beginning the JVP has planted the seeds in him very effectively. UNP has only joined the band wagon for their own salvation to grab power from the back door. Gotabaya should take all relevant precautions for such a situation not to arise in Sri Lanka perhaps even seeking Indian help. With utterly undiplomatic language SF is using in his propaganda machinery and meetings, it is a dangerous precedent if he manages to even come closer to win the election. The masses should know to place their trust on the real people’s representative MR at this election.
Re. Plan 2 to take the country !
Yes, ZIA UL HAQ - II is going to take over Sri Lanka !
I think a plan-B is a
I think a plan-B is a possible idea especially due to the JVP's active presence here. JVP has done this kind of operations (of course failed due to the sheer luck of mother Lanka) before and they are capable of supporting such an event by burning down tires and buses and damaging public assets all over the island, giving it a chaotic touch.
