Dear Fellow UNPers: Can we let Sarath Fonseka and the JVP take over our United National
Party and our country ?
Rauff Hakeem says he brought Sarath Fonseka as a candidate.
Then the JVP say they brought him as the opposition candidate. Mangala follows.
Then Mano Ganesan whispers that he brought Fonseka.
What did UNP do then? What is the UNP doing then? It is clear that Sarath is not one of us. Definitely not from the United National Party.
It is also evident that Fonseka is aligned with the JVP and he got no love or sympathy or feelings towards us UNP or its members. After all we are the UNP and we are the oldest party in the country and we have ruled Sri Lanka longer than any other party.
the questions that torment our heart are....
Can we let Sarath Fonseka and the JVP take over OUR United National Party and our country ?
Can we keep quiet and attend the funeral of the UNP ?
We always say “Kepuwath kola” . but, where is the green and the elephant today ?
Say NO to Fonseka, Tlivin Silvas, Somawansas, Ganesans, Hakeems and other yakos taking over the UNP.
Always remember.. UNP is the party of Senanayakes, Jayawardanes, Premadasas and Wickremasinghes.
for it may be too late before we realize that its a cancer that is active, plaguing our beloved party from within to its death...

UNPers, the only way to save
UNPers, the only way to save the party is to defeat Sarath Fonseka on the 26th by voting for Mahinda Rajapaksa, removing Ranil Wickremasinghe as your leader after that and then regrouping under a new leader to fight the general election that will follow the Presidential election. A strong alternative government is a must in a vibrant democracy, to keep the government of the day in check, and also to offer an alternative path to governance and also alternative policies and programs. During the time of Ranil Wickremasinghe, none of this has happened and the UNP has been sinking slowly but surely and losing its Grand Old Party status. If one looks at the Presidential election, there is no alternative policy offered by the so called "Common" candidate as its simply not possible to offer that considering the distance between the UNP and the JVP on policy issues. So the real reasons for Sarath Fonseka to be in the fray, his intent on revenge against the Rajapaksa's, is shrouded in vague statements about ending corruption and family nepotism. A Fonseka victory will be the end of the UNP, so if UNPers have a death wish, they could suport and vote for him, however, if they wish to live and fight another day, they should make sure he doesnt win. The choice is yours, dont moan and groan.
