Arrangements finalized for IDPs voting facilities in Kilinochchi
There will be 68 cluster polling booths in the Kilinochchi district for the forthcoming Presidential election.
With the view to make facility for the internally displaced persons who are resettled in Killinochi, it has been decided to set up 68 cluster polling booths at the Killinochi Rodrigo playground. This decision was taken up at the Killinochi GA’s office when the high officials met to decide about providing the voting facilities to the recently resettled people.
Additional election commissioner S. Srivardhana , deputy commissioner for IDP’s S Shanmugam, Jaffna district Government Agent K.Ganesh, Jaffna Deputy Election commissioner P.Kuhanathan and many other officials participated in the meeting.
These officials also visited Pooneryan region in the Killinochi district and decided on the installation of voting centres in that area. As in the total nineteen Grama Servaka divisions, already the IDPs have been resettled and it has been decided to facilitate them, twelve voting centres are to be set up in the schools in the region.
Also in the Karachchi region Deputy Government Agent Division, it has been decided to set up eight voting centres.
