Nepal Prez to visit China in March

Kathmandu, 02 January, (Asiantribune.com) :

Nepal’s President Dr Ram Baran Yadav is making official visit to China in March.

President Yadav is making the visit to the northern neighbor at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao.

Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, who returned home on Thursday night after six-day long trip to China, said President Jintao has extended invitation to President Yadav to make the visit in March.

Nepali side will set the date of the visit at the convenience of the President Dr Yadav.

President Dr Yadav, who takes pride to be the first president of the youngest republic in the world, has not made any foreign visit since he was elected in the top post of the country in July 2008.

President Dr Yadav is scheduled to make official visit to India in February.

Prime Minister Nepal said Chinese President Hu Jintao has also accepted invitation to visit Nepal.

The prime minister said he also extended invitation to Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao and President of Chinese Communist Party.

Talking to media persons upon his arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, the prime minister said he asked China to invest in hydro power and physical infrastructure development in Nepal. “Chinese side is positive about it,” he said.

The prime minister said his visit to China helped further strengthen bilateral ties between Nepal and China. “China will always have support to constitution drafting and peace process in Nepal,” he said.
