UN Special Rapporteur flouted diplomatic protocol- Foreign Minister

By Sugeeswara Senadhira
Colombo 08 January, (Asiantribune.com):

Sri Lanka charged that the UN Special Rapporteur Phillip Alston has failed to follow normal diplomatic practice. Minister for Foreign Affairs, Rohitha Bogollagama stated that the UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions has flouted diplomatic norms by making public the findings of a 3 member panel probing the controversial Channel 4 video even before Sri Lanka could respond to the revelations.

Responding to the statement made by Philip Alston, the Minister said that Alston’s conduct was a breach of diplomatic procedures.

“My Ministry has communicated in this regard both to the Special Rapporteur as well as to the UN Secretariat in New York that the Public Statement in New York is a violation of all the accepted procedures of the United Nations and the norms of justice and fair play”, Minister Bogollagama told media.

The Minister claims that proper procedure would have allowed for a formal response by the Government of Sri Lanka prior to matters being made public.

“The correct procedure would have been for Prof. Alston to first convey the findings of the “independent experts” to our Government. Thereafter the Government should have been given enough time to respond and this in turn should be taken into account by Prof. Alston, prior to deciding on any future course of action,” he said.

Minister Bogollagama cast doubt on the findings of the report and the certainty of the experts appointed to examine the video. “It is also important to note that the findings of the experts are quite ambiguous. For example one expert has written that what was submitted to him “cannot be authenticated to an absolute certainty”, he added.

The Foreign Minister charged that the Special Rapporteur had ignored the very findings of his experts in an attempt to influence the elections in Sri Lanka.

“Therefore Prof. Alston’s rush and determination to go public, ignoring procedure and the very opinions of the ‘experts’ must make us question whether he is targeting our country and deliberately timing his actions to coincide with the current sensitive phase of national elections,” Minister Bogollagama told media.

Alston has been a great

Alston has been a great sympathizer and ardent supporter of LTTE so that from the very beginning of the war which Sri Lankan government made against LTTE terrorists and he tried his best to save LTTE leadership. His acts are mean and callous. He can't be a real professor. He is the key figure in Tamilnet website. Sri Lankan government and all patriotic Sri Lankans should strongly and vehemently condemn his activities which he performs under the guise of human right activist.

Alston the UN liar is back

Alston the UN liar is back with his Channel 4/JDS video claiming it is authentic. But a like the cheap prostitute he is, he is cold bloodily lying in his latest "work" claiming the Channel 4/JDS video is authentic (http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2010-01/08/content_12773261.htm). A technical analysis was conducted by Siri Heriwthana which proved the video was filmed not with a mobile (as claimed by Channel 4 and JDS) but with a proper video camera and the sound was not in sync which means it was dubbed in, which explains away the flaws in the video.

And the video was shown in Sri Lanka.

But this liar Alston pretends that the above did not happen (yet in his "rebuttal" he has got his "experts" to counter these aspects of the technical analysis used in the Government response while ignoring that significant and primary part of the Government response when trying to ridicule the Government response to further contribute to the impression the video is real).

As to who filmed the video, and how they got it, why do they not ask JDS who provided the video? Because then truth will come out.

And what took so long for this report?
This is all being timed with Gonseka and the election.
Furthermore it is part of their desperate bid to set up a base of operations to interfere in Sri Lanka and fully “internationalise” the country.

Its so obvious that the whole goal behind this bogus video is that.

What really takes the icing

What really takes the icing is that they will not ask JDS for the original video and JDS has not provided it, nor has JDS identified the source (to Alston and liars) to then inform Sri Lanka. Where did it come from, who provided it to JDS, who filmed it (probably JDS itself in corroboration with the LTTE going by who is the head of JDS) would defiantly accelerate identifying who the shooters are. Of course that is not the purpose of the video, it is ambiguous on purpose because it is not there to bring anyone to justice or identify any human rights violation.
The entire purpose behind this fraudulent exercise is to attack Sri Lanka to justify intervention, sanctions then regime change.

It also explains why Alston keeps flouting regulations and common courtesy with regards to matters like this. When this forged video first came out he sends one message to Sri Lanka then appears in front of Western media (no less) with a completely different and rude message as if he is in possession of cold hard facts. When disproved the first time (as he will again be disproved again) he did not run as fast he did to the media to hold another loud mouth press conference. Instead he said the Governments investigation was "not independent" because it was carried out by Sri Lankans. Amazing don't you think? First they make false accusations and demand Sri Lanka to investigate (if Sri Lanka does not then Sri Lanka is "hiding" something) when Sri Lanka does investigate its is "not independent". So based on this twisted logic they deem it necessary for their "external" team to come here (and provide more concocted rubbish). It all points to the one obvious conclusion and that is intellectual frauds like Alston, his organisation the UN and its pay masters the West are not genuine in their "crusades" (thankfully the rest of the world is amply aware of this). And of course Alston and friends were stunned by Sri Lanka's first rebuttal (which still stands credible) and the reality is Sri Lanka cannot bring anyone to be arrested/charged for these so called "war crimes" and "human rights abuses" because none have been committed and the "claims" are false (along with the "evidence" which is also all fabricated and baseless -built more on repeating the same old lies/"anonymous witnesses statements"). Even more twisted is the manner in which they use this lie (non-existent "war crimes/human rights abuses") to make another lie (that Sri Lanka is not "investigating war crimes/human rights abuses") to fulfil/justify their pre-set agenda of intervention/saving the LTTE etc.

The West is desperate to bring back the LTTE (their "alternative" power or some other murdering beasts), collapse the current pro-Lankan Government and keep Sri Lanka forever divided, at war, politically unstable, economically and socially broken and the people (Tamils and Sinhalese) at each others throats. They are not interested in any "reconciliation", they are only interested in perpetuating hatred and disunity, war misery and servitude under the guise of "reconciliation" and "human rights".
