Cremation of Thiruvengadam Velupillai today at the Urani cemetery

The funeral rites of the demised Thiruvengadam Velupillai , the father of the LTTE leader late Prabhakaran will be held today at 11 AM and the cremation will take place thereafter at the Urani cemetery.

The remains of late Velupillai was handed over to M.K.Sivajilingham, the TNA Parliamentarian and the Independent Tamil Presidential candidate.

Speaking to Asian Tribune Sivajiliungham said that the postmortem report on the cause of death revealed, ‘natural’.

Also he said that the wife of Velupillai and the mother of Prabhakaran Ms. Parvathipillai have been released without any condition.

At present she is living at the Urani Hospital quarters with the Chief Doctor Dr. Mayilerum Perumal.

The Indian Parliament Member and the leader of the Viduathalai Chiruthaikal Thol Thirumavalavan, visited Valvetiturai and paid his last respect to the departed the father of Prabhakaran.

Also the Tamil National Alliance Parliamentarians who are presently in Jaffna to participate in the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kadchchi Conference also paid their last respect.

It is learnt many of those TNA parliamentarians were unhappy over Prabhakaran’s family members authorizing Sivajilingham to take over the remains of Velupillai and also requesting him to take complete charge of the funeral arrangements.

It is said to be a clear indication of the trust and confidence Prabhakaran’s family had on Sivajilingham, than on any others in the TNA.
