Kyndal India, India’s leading spirit importer and distributor, launched Bols’ first Intenational Premium brandy—Bols XO Excellance-- in Chennai on Saturday.
Early this year Kyndal India has entered into a joint venture agreement with Amsterdam-based Lucas Bols BV to launch Bols Brandy in India. This joint venture involves bottling and marketing. It is the first international Premium brand to be bottled in Chennai.
Bols brandy was first made available in the markets of Karnataka, Pondicherry, Cochin and Goa, before coming to Chennai. Next they are planning to go to Sri Lanka, said Mr. Huub van Doorne, CEO, Lucas Bols. “India is one of the largest markets and is still growing at an admirable pace creating many opportunities.”
Mr. Siddharth Banerji, MD, Bols Kyndal, said “We intend to create a new segment with the class and elegance which is truly international and rich. We also see a great opportunity in the Chennai’s premium brandy market as there is hardly any choice for the premium brandy lovers in the state.” Mr. Banerji added that it was estimated that the premium brandy market in the state was fast expanding at the rate of 42 % and they plan to increase their share to 25% of the same.
Bols Brandy, coming from ‘The House of Bols’ based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, is the oldest still existing brand in the world with over 400 years of history.
Kyndal is a leading independent importer, manufacturer, distributor and sales and marketing organization that cover the Indian domestic and duty free markets, subcontinent and Middle East. Kyndal has been credited for launching brands such as absolute Vodka, Remy Cointreau, Bols, Jim Beam, Whyte & Mackay, etc.
