Prabhakaran’s father Velupillai cremated,

Colombo, 11 January, (Asiantribune.com):

Thiruvenkadam Velupillai (86) , the father of LTTE leader late Prabhakaran was cremated at the Urani Cemetery around 2 PM on Sunday afternoon.

The body was consumed to the fire after his cousin brother Ramasamy set fire to the funeral pyre, according the Hindu funeral rituals at the Urani cemetery.


When are they going to give a decent cremation to Prbhakaran and his wife, sons and daughter?

Pretty large crowd was seen at the cemetery participating in the cremation ceremony.
Earlier the body that was laid at the Theeruvil Thidal (esplanade) for the general public of Valvetiturai pay their last respect, was taken to Alady, to the house of his cousin brother Ramasamy .

The holy bath ( was simply sprinkled with water) , the funeral rituals were conducted at the house and the coffin was taken in procession to the Urani Cemetery located nearly half a kilometer from the house, where the rituals were conducted.


Why can’t Prabhakaran's body be exhumed and given a descent cremation?

The TNA parliamentarians were seen paying their last respect.

The people of Valvetiturai were seen participating in the last journey to the cemetery.

At last Velupillai’s funeral took place according to the Hindu funeral tradition, but what happened to the funeral of the LTTE leader Prabhakaran?

Why can’t his body be exhumed and given a descent burial?
