Sri Lanka President visits Palaly Army Complex

Colombo, 11 January, (Asiantribune.com):

Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday accompanied with the company of Tri Service Commanders and the Inspector General of Police, visited the northern military headquarters in Palaly

A guard of honor was accorded by Gemunu Watch troops and greeted the visiting President , who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

Later, President Rajapaksa addressed the troops and officers at the base.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa emphasised that no one should betray the victory gained by the war heroes.

He pointed out that the people of this country are proud of this victory. He stressed that it could not be allowed to divide the united country or to create terrorism in the country again.

He personally looked into the needs of the troops stationed there and gave instructions to meet their needs.
