By Anjana Jayashan in Colombo
Colombo, 18 January, (Asiantribune.com):

Dullas_Alahapperuma.jpgUnited People’s Freedom Alliance presidential candidate President Mahinda Rajapaksha would receive a resounding victory on January 26th elections as a number of local and international surveys predicted, Transport Minister Dullas Alahapperuma told the media this morning (Jan. 18).

He also said “Instead, the opposition’s so called common candidate General Fonseka had publicized his ignorance in politics with using derogatory comments and abusive language on a political stage. The democratic, intelligent and peaceful citizens do not tolerate such statements and behaviours from a person who desired to be the president of this country”, the minister pointed out.

Minister Alahapperuma further said that the UPFA candidate’s election manifesto was a continuation of the Mahinda Chinthana which implemented massive development programs all over the island after defeating the terrorism. “This document is completely different from other candidate manifestos as it is not a list of false promises to the country”, the Minister added.

Minister further added that the opposition candidate had promised a salary increase of Rs. 10,000 for the public sector employees and it was an impossible target and never can be attended. He said that the President Rajapaksha referring to the disparity between the proposed salary increase to public servants by the two main contenders, the minister said that the President promised only Rs.2500/- salary increase with a right vision how to do it.

“United Peoples’ Freedom Alliance manifesto is knowledge based easily reachable development plan. It is also a resource document for amateur politician to learn how to do politics for the benefits of the general public”, the Minister added.

Fonseka should be sent back

Fonseka should be sent back to a kindergarten to socialize him well. He is not fit for a leader. It is now every one understands that what Mangala Samaraweera said was true. He said that Fonseka is not suitable even for Salvation Army. Mangala is right. Fonseka has proved it before the nation.
